A new hardcover in the Library Lover's mystery series from the New York Times bestselling author of On Borrowed Time. Small-town librarian Lindsey Norris must solve a murder and a missing person's case involving two reclusive brothers.
NOT HIS BROTHER'S KEEPER
Delivering books to the housebound residents of the Thumb Islands, just a short boat ride from the town of Briar Creek, library director Lindsey Norris has befriended two elderly brothers, Stewart and Peter Rosen. She enjoys visiting them in their treasure-filled, ramshackle Victorian on Star Island until she discovers that Peter has been killed and Stewart is missing. Now she's determined to solve a murder and find Stewart before he suffers his brother's fate.

McKinlay's Library Lover's series moves to hardcover with this amiable sixth entry (after 2014's On Borrowed Time). Lindsey Norris, the director of the Briar Creek, Conn., public library, often takes books to reclusive brothers Stewart and Peter Rosen, who live on a small island, via the water taxi piloted by her ex-boyfriend Mike "Sully" Sullivan. On Lindsey and Mike's latest trip, no one meets them at the dock, and when they navigate the treacherous (booby-trapped) entrance to the Rosens' house, they find Peter murdered and Stewart missing. Police chief Emma Plewicki takes over, but that doesn't keep Lindsey from forming her own plan to find Stewart. Intrigue is provided by wealthy Evelyn Dewhurst buying up islands and Chicago antique collectors Kevin Perkins and Calvin Hodges arriving to visit the Rosens. Lindsey's attraction to both Sully and handsome (but married) actor Robbie Vine provides some welcome romance amid the sleuthing. Agent: Christina Hogrebe, Jane Rotrosen Agency.

The "Library Lover's Mystery" series, which has been making tracks on the New York Times paperback best sellers list, leaps to hardcover with this sixth title. Library director Lindsey Norris is back, routinely navigating Briar Creek to take books to Thumb Islands residents who can't leave home, including Stewart and Peter Rosen. One day, arriving at their art-stuffed, tumbledown Victorian, she discovers Peter murdered and Stewart missing and determines to track down both the killer and Stewart. Listen up, Maker space fans; there aren't just discussion questions but recipes and a craft project.
