Ian Frobisher, a friend of Daniel’s, recently shared his suspicions that Vayne was bilking hundreds of people through a pyramid scheme, but added that he lacked conclusive proof. Despite those misgivings, Vayne was arrested and charged, leaving Daniel, who’s assisting Hunter, to scramble to find enough evidence for a conviction. Pitt, an experienced barrister, teams up with King's Counsel Gideon Hunter to prosecute the ruthless, charismatic, and philanthropic Malcolm Vayne, who is accused of bilking investors. Half detective story, half courtroom drama, the case revolves around a Ponzi scheme that's almost impossible to unravel or explain to jurors. Roukin's gravelly voice is perfect for this complex mystery filled with a cast of erudite British characters. The story is laced with subtle humor and a modicum of violence, murder, and mayhem.
