      Vampires Schuyler and Jack escape captivity and try to rescue an Italian girl impregnated by Lucifer. Meanwhile, in New York, Mimi attempts to solve the mystery of who is kidnapping vampires and burning them to death. The non-intersecting tales, with their convoluted backstories, inconsistent internal logic, and facile quasi-resolutions, aren't a good fit for each other.
